Each week the students are involved in outreaches here locally. This is a great opportunity for them to give back into local communities, and it is a learning time seeing how to practically use many of the teachings and skills they are learning.

Plus the students really have such a desire to get out and share with others in response to all that they are receiving from God. What a blessing it is to work with a group of young people with such a heart for outreach!  On Mondays all of the students go into Sir Lowry’s Pass Village for prayer walking and praying with residents of the community. In the second half of the year they will also be teaching residents gardening.

Friday afternoons are very exciting days for the students at Eagles. Our students love these days when we spread out touching lives in many different locations and from all different backgrounds.  Some of the students get the opportunity to join Solid Rock Life Skills in teaching soccer to students at Stellenbosch Primary School. Some of the students go to work with up to 600 children from Khayelitsha at the InterCape Bus Company offices.  They share Bible stories, songs, and lots of games with these beautiful children.  A third group of students go to work with a crèche in Sir Lowry’s Pass Village called Mercy’s Day Care. Then, this group helps at an After School Bible Club at Hope and Light with around 500 children coming for Bible games and stories.

These local outreaches are a very important part of our students’ program. It is a way that we love our neighbors and go into our area with the Gospel of the Kingdom.
