Each week the students are involved in outreaches here locally. This is a great opportunity for them to give back into local communities, and it is a learning time seeing how to practically use many of the teachings and skills they are learning.
I would like to share with you a funny thing that happened quite a while ago when I was still working with the volunteers at the Cheetah Project.
We had to dip two rhinos… me and two other volunteers (Ellie & Hannah) decided we are not going to follow the boring route and decided it will be much more fun dipping the two rhinos with water pistols. Mania was the tame one but Tanja (even though she is my name sake) was a bit wild even though she was use to people…
Have a safe trip back home Jeannet & Will

Bushwhacked would like to wish Jeannet Vaage and Will Garton a safe trip back home today. We hope you had a wonderful time at the Cheetah Project with memories to fill a life time!! They had some wonderful experience with the animals…
First was a leopard rescued from unfortunate circumstances, and second was a Bateleur eagle that had flown into electric lines and injured its wing really badly. We had the opportunity to visit the vet when one of the cheetahs cut its foot, and also to assist when the vet amputated the eagle’s wing. One of our more fun activities included helping Mrs Roode organize painting classes for the cheetah cubs. The resulting paw print paintings show a lot of artistic promise.
